We have started our testing of staff for Asymptomatic COVID today. Starting with practicing on SLT and Volunteers. This has been important to practice so we ensure we get it right and that systems we have been asked to put in place are done accurately and within guidelines and safety regulations. Testing is important as it reduces the risk of having to close bubbles unnecessarily and keep the staff and pupils in school.
From Monday 18th January, our staff team will be tested weekly and this will take place safely and securely in the school hall.
The new simple test is known as the Lateral Flow Test and takes just a few moments to administer and the results are returned within 30 minutes. If the test is negative, staff can return to their bubbles and continue as normal. If a positive test is received, then that member of staff will be sent home, asked to take an additional PCR test, and self-isolate for the recommended duration of 10 days if that test is also positive.
