Dear Parent or Carer
Somerset Cricket Board is delighted to announce the launch of a new Super 1’s Cricket Club at The Priory Community School.
Super 1 sessions are weekly (term time only) aimed at young people aged 12-25 years of age with a mild/moderate learning difficulties, or with a physical disability.
The sessions are fun, played with a softer ball and will teach the basics of cricket!
Super 1s will not only improve an individual’s cricketing ability, but also their social and lifelong learning skills. We also hope to allow young people to take on leadership roles!
In addition, a big element of Super 1s is competition. With multiple Super 1 sessions across the County, I hope to bring them all together on regular occasions (during the school holidays) so they can ‘compete’ against other Super 1 clubs in safe, friendly and supportive environment! We hope to recognise young people’s attendance and commitment to their weekly session by rewarding them with Super 1s T-shirts for their attendance at a set number of sessions.
The club will take launch on Thursday 21st November and will run every Thursday from 6.00pm to 7.00pm in the sports hall at the Priory School, Queensway, Weston Super Mare, BS22 6BP
The sessions are free to attend and are led by a qualified cricket coach and supported by staff who hold valid DBS certificates. All equipment is provided.
The coach for your session is the brilliant Matt Carpenter.
If you wish to register your child with the Super 1’s club or need any more information please send an email to steve.gass@somersetcricketboard.org or call 01823 352266
We can’t wait to see you at our Super 1s Cricket Club.
Yours faithfully
