Dear parents and carers,
We would like to share some exciting news with you. Recently the school purchased a set of ClassVR headsets, introducing virtual and augmented reality to learners and staff. Teachers were trained in using the technology and they started using these headsets to enhance teaching and learning in the classroom.
The headsets are designed to help raise engagement & increase knowledge retention for learners of all ages. The ClassVR platform provides engaging curriculum-aligned content along with structured lesson plans to help spark the imagination of learners. There are hundreds of scenes and experiences in a variety of subjects from Art to Maths and from Humanities to Science.
This is the feedback we received from the learners:
Jamie – “I really enjoyed my time with the VR headsets and am looking forward to what the school can use them for.”
Max – “I really enjoyed the shark feeding application.”
Freyja – “I think they are really good, I really enjoy the fact I can visit lots of different places without having to leave the classroom.”
Mia – “I thought they were really cool but a little bit creepy, I found the shark experience a bit scary! I really loved the fact I could run around different places like in the ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ application.”
Aden – “They were good fun, they had lots of different fun things to try.”
Kida – “I really liked being able to explore places without any danger. If I fell off the giant beanstalk from ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ you could easily get up and try again.”
Bethne – “I really enjoyed them and I wish I could have one for myself.”
Rachel – “I really liked being able to add objects to the foam blocks and move them around in your hands.”
Oliver – “It was alright, I really enjoyed being able to look around all the different locations. I think It opens up a lot of different learning possibilities.”
