World Book Day is approaching! On Thursday 5th March, learners are invited to come into school dressed as a book character. Some classes have chosen a theme to dress up as – please see below. If your child does not want to dress up, that is absolutely fine!
Chester, Cambridge, Wells and Bath – The Man on the Moon space theme
Plymouth – Winnie-the-Pooh
Cardiff – no theme – any book character
Leeds – Star of Fear, Star of Hope – World War 2 theme
Exeter – Disney
Newcastle – Philip Pullman, Northern Lights
Manchester – Characters from Julia Donaldson books
Belfast, London, Liverpool, Bristol – no theme – any book character
We are also running a “reading in an unusual place” competition. If your child would like to take part in this competition, they will need to bring in a photo of them reading in an unusual (but not dangerous!) place by Monday 2nd of March so that they can be displayed and ready for World Book Day. Please ask your child to return photos to Mrs Payne or the school office.
