A life skill for all!
The whole school community values the importance of a good level of mental health. Walking around our school you will see teachers using peaceful music and mindful moments to bring composure and calm between lessons. Classes in Lower School enjoy sessions of yoga with teachers and skilled teaching assistants.
We find that learners who may have struggled with a life change, or managing their feelings, use the methods shared with them during Social Thinking sessions and become more independent with self help.
Our aim is for learners to be equipped with a toolkit of strategies to tackle all that life may challenge them with as they grow up. This includes resilience, coping strategies, self awareness and knowing when they need to ask for help in life.
