On Thursday 5th March, we celebrated World Book Day by dressing up! Wenda Wally (aka Ms Towler) was very impressed with all of the outfits and had the very difficult task of choosing the winners of our prizes. After much deliberation, the winners were chosen…..
Best Dressed Class (primary) – Wells
Best Dressed Class (secondary) – Leeds
Best individual costume (primary) – Oliver (Cambridge)
Best individual costume (secondary) – Ned (Leeds)
We also ran a “reading in an unusual place competition”. Again, this was a very difficult choice for Wenda, with learners and staff reading in a variety of places including at the top of a mountain, in a lake, bouncing high on a trampoline and in the shower! All learners received a “Highly Commended” certificate but two overall winners were chosen:
Reading in an unusual place award (primary) – George K (Chester)
Reading in an unusual place award (secondary) – Gracie (Plymouth)
Well done to everyone involved and don’t forget to exchange your World Book Day token for a free book in local supermarkets!
