Westhaven School is a unique learning environment for children and young people who experience complex barriers to learning for a range of reasons.
In order that we maintain our respected status in the community, the whole school community works together in the ‘Westhaven Way’. This is the golden thread that runs through every school day. The Westhaven Way is based on our core values:

Our first coffee morning! Last week W6 class held our first coffee morning for Macmillian cancer support. We baked cakes, made teas, chatted to parents and took donations. Students from years 9, 10 and 11 with an interest in animal care, agriculture and horticulture visited Bridgwater and Taunton College’s Cannington Campus. It was a wet but brilliant day where students learned about different animals, as well as the different post-16 courses available at the college.

An amazing effort which showed through in the confidence and performance of all the children. We very much enjoyed it and just would have loved Ned to have the confidence to participate.
Fantastic! Really good performance, all the kids were amazing – they had great acting skills and great dancing. Would love to see more drama throughout the year as it was so nice to see the kids enjoy it and be so confident.
Wow, what an amazing Nativity for Lower School – seeing all the staff working so hard to ensure that every child was happy and comfortable in what they were doing. With thought put in to provide a DVD for those who couldn’t attend – amazing. So pleased to have made the right decision in moving Lillie there.
So I’ve just been to see the Nativity production at Westhaven. I didn’t get the chance to fill out the feedback form, but I did want to say WOW! The production was great 🙂 all of the children were amazing! Lana-Rae’s confidence has really soared since being at Westhaven! I’m so thankful she is in a school that really does care and support her with her struggles; no matter what they are it’s never too much and the staff really do take their time to make sure she’s happy and feels secure. Her reading has come on so well and she’s learned to make and maintain friendships. It’s so nice to see her happy and enjoying education! So to all the staff … thank you so much for everything you do at Westhaven to make our children feel supported and included.
Just that you are all fantastic! A beautiful performance and lovely that the children got to put their personalities into it. Well done!

Thank you for your hard work and dedication and making it possible for Freyja to be part of a production. First year she has ever attended a whole nativity.
Thank you – it was the first time we saw Oliver enjoying taking part in a performance. He is usually so anxious. Just the right length.
