I am really excited to be sharing with you the news of our PE fundraiser that is happening this term. On Friday 17th May Westhaven School is being visited by a former World Champion discus thrower. James Tomlinson is visiting our school to give an inspirational assembly to our middle and upper school learners about how his dreams became a reality and to share with us all the highs and lows of his story.
After the assembly he will then be leading a fitness activity with the learners. We are asking for your support to help us raise money for our PE department. Over the last year we have spent a huge sum of money updating old equipment, and most excitingly paying for a new state of the art outdoor gym facility for all learners to use. This is being done over the summer holidays.
To be able to keep on updating equipment, keep running our different sports clubs and be able to attend the different sporting events we do, we are asking for your help. There is a live link underneath to our fundraiser, please give whatever you can and just as importantly share this link as wide and as far as possible inside the community. And please note James explains in the video that the fundraiser is for the athletes to cover training, health and expense cost but we as a school have already covered this so the money we make from the fundraiser is solely for the schools benefit.

Thank you as always for all your support and we look forward to sharing photos and videos with you of the amazing experience our learners are going to have meeting James.
Yours faithfully,
Ross McErlain
Head of PE
Westhaven School.
