Pathways to Employment

At Westhaven, we are committed to giving our learners the best possible experiences in order to maximise their chances of reaching employment. We have been working closely with the Careers and Enterprise Company to achieve the 8 Gatsby Benchmarks which are the basis to providing an outstanding Careers provision. This journey is still ongoing for us at Westhaven, however you can see from the graph below that our progression through the last 2 years has been very positive. Changes have included a new team around the subject, a new curriculum approach, new systems put in place and a new careers advisor at school.

This has been a real team effort from the whole school community and I would like to say a personal thank you to all those who have worked with the school in making such positive progress in this area. We are working hard to ensure this progress continues to ensure that Westhaven is a school where employment and future opportunities are at the forefront of everything we do.
If your child talks about their career aspirations / interests and home, or indeed already has a part-time job, please let us know so we can use this to track the ‘pathway’ of your child’s experiences.
