Dear Parents and Carers
The school has started a consultation to extend our offer to pupils beyond Year 11.
We would like to offer an opportunity to some of our pupils to enable them to stay at Westhaven in Years 12 and 13. This will be for pupils who are not quite ready for college and need to practise and widen their knowledge of life skills, community engagement and provide further transition training for a college education beyond Year 13.
This consultation, if granted, will also offer Westhaven pupils the same entitlement as pupils attending Ravenswood and Baytree School and represents a fair and equitable education option.
Please take a brief moment to consult on this proposal and support this change of DfE designation to enable us to be an ‘all-through’ specialist school.
Thank you.

As a School Governor, I fully support this request for expansion so as to enable Westhaven School to provide a comparative level of service to its competitors in North Somerset. There is an obvious benefit to the students by extending the age range for these special needs pupils.
