Intent
Westhaven Sixth Form offers a small, specialized provision with a limited capacity of just five places in Year 12 and five in Year 13. While the vast majority of our Year 11 students successfully transition to Weston College or other local providers, our internal sixth form is designed specifically for those who require a more structured, secure environment before taking their next steps. By maintaining this small cohort, we can focus intensely on individual long-term outcomes, supporting learners to develop the vital independence and life skills they need to eventually progress to larger post-16 settings.
The long term outcomes are taken directly from the Education Health and Care plan (EHCP) and are reviewed annually. Our curriculum focuses on 4 key areas:
- Education and employment
- Community inclusion
- Independent living
- Health
You may recognise these from the preparation for adulthood section of the EHCP.
